Yep, thats me

Happy birthday Dad

Dee and Gregg

The greatest gift a wife could give:
A life of love, to share, and live.
The gift of babies, lots of those.
To keep my in-laws on their toes.

Love you guys.

You-s and Me-s

Oranges and apple trees,
Coconut and honey bees.
Smiling from my head to knees,
Good things come in 'You-s' and 'Me-s'.

To Women from Pamela

“A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ....
enough money within her control to move out
and rent a place of her own even if she never wants
to or needs to...
A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ....
something perfect to wear if the employer or date of her
dreams wants to see her in an hour...
A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ...
a youth she's content to leave behind....
A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ....
a past juicy enough that she's looking forward to
retelling it in her old age....
A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE .....
a set of screwdrivers, a cordless drill, and a black
lace bra...
A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ....
one friend who always makes her laugh... and one who
lets her cry...
A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ....
a good piece of furniture not previously owned by anyone
else in her family...
A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ....
eight matching plates, wine glasses with stems, and a
recipe for a meal that will make her guests feel honored...
A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ....
a feeling of control over her destiny...
EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
how to fall in love without losing herself..
EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
HOW TO QUIT A JOB,
BREAK UP WITH A LOVER,
AND CONFRONT A FRIEND WITHOUT RUINING THE FRIENDSHIP...
EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
when to try harder... and WHEN TO WALK AWAY...
EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
that she can't change the length of her calves,
the width of her hips, or the nature of her parents..
EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
that her childhood may not have been perfect...but it's over...
EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
what she would and wouldn't do for love or more...
EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
how to live alone... even if she doesn't like it...
EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
whom she can trust,
whom she can't,
and why she shouldn't
take it personally...
EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
where to go...
be it to her best friend's kitchen table...
or a charming inn in the woods...
when her soul needs soothing...
EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
what she can and can't accomplish in a day...
a month...and a year...”

“Families are messy. Immortal families are eternally messy. Sometimes the best we can do is to remind each other that we're related for better or for worse...and try to keep the maiming and killing to a minimum.”

“If someone were to harm my family or a friend or somebody I love, I would eat them. I might end up in jail for 500 years, but I would eat them.”
― Johnny Depp

A mother fills the holes in life,
the pain and hurts and burning strife.
You are my sunshine, morning's light.

A man who loves you just because.
When all is lost, he helps you find.
Your place, your spirit, faith, and mind.

The third seed

Three seeds sat safe and warm under the dirt. The first seed was very content on where it was, completely ignoring its potential. The second was filled with curiosity about the world above, but too afraid to do anything about it. And the third was the most terrified of the three, but yet, the most daring.

The first would shout discouraging remarks at the other two.

“You’ll get run over up there, you'll never make it.” It would say.

The second seed would take these comments to heart, and would crumble and sink deeper into the soil. The third would not listen, It could see through the first seed's insecurities and fears. It could see how it was stunting itself, and bringing others down with it. Despite all the thoughts and emotions that the first seed pounded into its mind, it was not going to let these harmful tactics work.

He reached and stretched, pushing higher, and taller. Every inch closer to the surface it rose, the harsher the criticism became. The greater the pain got, the harder it was to keep a strong self worth. The second seed would watch the third and yearn so deeply to have its courage.

It was almost to the top when the abuse turned almost unbearable. It became physical, stealing its nutrients and water, trying to cut off any avenue of progression so that it had nothing. Nothing to build with, yet it prevailed.

The light hit the small fragile leaf as it burst out into the open. It had never felt light before, It was an incredible feeling. Now, It could finally breathe like it was supposed to. It stood tall as the other plants congratulated it. Then when the night fell, it wept for the seeds below.

Angel

An angel glides, an angel dances.
An angel ruthlessly romances.

Smile

If one says something 'bout himself,
It better be about his health.
Cause no one likes a big parade,
of bragging words and accolades.

Quotes

Dr. Seuss
“We are all a little weird and life's a little weird, and when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall in mutual weirdness and call it love.”
― Dr. Seuss

Oscar Wilde
“Life is far too important a thing ever to talk seriously about.”
― Oscar WildeLady Windermere's Fan

Bill Watterson
“The surest sign that intelligent life exists elsewhere in the universe is that it has never tried to contact us.”
― Bill Watterson

Elizabeth Gilbert
“When I get lonely these days, I think: So BE lonely, Liz. Learn your way around loneliness. Make a map of it. Sit with it, for once in your life. Welcome to the human experience. But never again use another person's body or emotions as a scratching post for your own unfulfilled yearnings.”

THE BROKEN BABY BIRD

Two starving baby birds sat in their nest arguing about the crying raccoon below.
"It's a trick to get one of us to go down," said Fred, the elder of the two.
"It's not a trick Fred," said Frank."We both saw what happened with that farmer yesterday, killed her whole family. She needs someone, she needs to feel loved."
"I still think it's a trick, plus, we lost our mother, we got family problems of our own, and we can't fly yet! What could we possibly do?"
Frank let a little tear slip with a smile. "Goodbye Fred."
"What are you doing? Don’t, get back here Frank. FRANK!"
Frank spread his wings and plummeted downward. He tore through sharp twigs and rough leaves, he rolled off the trunk of the tree and smashed into a muddy puddle.
The sobbing raccoon lifted her head, blinking tightly. She rubbed her burning wet eyes and crawled over to the baby bird, broken and bruised from the fall.
"No!" thought Fred, he watched as the raccoon scooped him up. He was shocked, She did not eat him. She put him in her furry bosom and cried even harder. They were talking now, What were they saying? Now she was digging, what was going on?
She climbed up the tree, frank in her hand. Her beady bright eyes rose over the nest. Fred cringed and sank, she gently rolled frank into their home. She dropped a claw full of dirt and worms next to him, patted him on the head, and was gone.
         Fred sat there in awe.
"Now you wont be hungry Fred," said Frank, nursing his broken wing and leg. Fred didn't know what to say, so he quietly thanked him. Then when frank wasn't looking, he cried.

You

Timeless, Tasteful, touch of Love
Sailing down from up above.
And to the world, I'll say adieu,
to be at home, enjoying you.

Love

The man shielded his eyes as he gazed up at the sun setting behind the mountain.
“What a majestic sight.”
Then the man walked over to his rocking chair and sat down.
“What a relaxing feeling.”
After a while he noticed a small flower growing next to his foot. He bent down and gently smelled it.
“What a wonderful smell.”
Tired, the man walked into his home and went to bed.
“Did you hear that?” Asked the mountain. “He said I am majestic! He loves me the most.”
“Did you hear that?” Asked the rocking chair. “He said I was relaxing! He loves me the most.”
“Did you hear that?” Asked the flower. “He said I had a wonderful smell! He loves me the most.”
The mountain and the chair both burst out laughing.
“The man could never need a flower, the way he needed a mountain or a chair,” they said.
Hurt, the flower held its tongue, and said nothing.
The flower watched for years as the mountain and the chair argued over who was the mans favorite. Who gave him the most, who was appreciated more. But the flower never said a word.
Until one day, when a great storm came. Water, rocks, and mud rushed down the mountain side crushing the mans house. It crippled everything he owned, including his rocking chair.
By now, the the fragile little flower had grown into a large strong tree.
As the man washed away, he was grabbed by one of the tree’s branches and pulled to safety.
“What a majestic sight,” said the man, admiring the strong thick branches covered in leaves. “And what a relaxing feeling” he said, sitting safely above the raging waters. “Was this not the tiny flower I used to smell?” he asked.

And the tree smiled.

A Treat For Halloween

The tale I choose to tell tonight,
is sure to give you quite a fright.
A lamp is lit, and here we sit,
to hear the tale of Old Girt Rit.

They say he’s dead, they say he's not.
They say he’s half way, left to rot.
He walks alone within these trees,
and brings with him a bone chill breeze.

He waits for young ones, just like you.
To make a camping trip come true.
And watches as the embers dull,
he counts each head, each tiny skull.

He waits for you to be the last,
to fall asleep, and then real fast,
he snatches you, and if you yelp,
You soon find out, there's not much help.

Cuz when Old Girt Rit takes his prize,
Nobody sees but fire-flies.
It’s not until the next day dawn,
They’ll see your missing, lost, and gone.

Of course they’ll blame it on a bear
He slept right here, they'll say, they'll swear
But we know better, don’t we, right?
The truth of Old Girt Rit tonight.
